Runescape's latest updates introduced minigames

  • I wish to see more abilities follow the version of my favourite skill, Slayer, that is about killing monsters assigned by Slayer masters. Slayer makes training your battle skills more enjoyable by taking you around RS gold, and because it enables you to fight a lot of distinct creatures, you receive item drops that fuel a variety of non-combat skills--gems for Crafting, seeds such as Farming, metal bars for Smithing.

I'd really like to find that kind of diversity come into skills like Herblore and Agility, and I'd like to see more abilities interact with other abilities, like the way I coached Woodcutting while leveling Hunter. Efficiency is enjoyable, and Runescape is at its finest when you're not stuck doing one thing.

Happily, some of Old School Runescape's latest updates introduced minigames that assist liven up otherwise boring skills like Cooking and Firemaking. And while some abilities are still dull to train, they're at least more rewarding thanks to the accession of skill-gated regional diaries which give you a globetrotting to-do record --kill this monster, talk to the NPC, finish this exploration, craft this item and so on.

Completing diaries unlocks exceptionally useful utilities and buy Runescape gold, so that they motivate you to train abilities and complete quests. They also offer a small but valuable dose of direction: if you need a new goal, you could always work on your diaries.
